Two Job Opportunities at Gartner
Gartner, a consulting firm, will be interviewing USF MBA students for two positions on campus on Wednesday, December 9.
There are openings for consultants and senior consultants.
San Jose and Sacramento are the potential office locations the company is hiring for, keeping in mind that consulting generally requires some travel. Gartner Consulting, however, does generally involve less travel than working for a consulting firm like McKinsey or Accenture.
Cover Letters should be address to Richard Cockcroft, Managing Vice President.
Send me resumes and cover letters by end of day on Friday, December 4. A select number of candidates will be chosen for on-campus interviews on December 9 after resumes and cover letters have been screened.
If you have questions about the positions, contact Danielle Glynn.

Vault Expands Resources Available at USF MBA Careers Web Site
Current USF MBA students have access to career-related resources offered by Vault, through a link on their individual home pages on the USF MBA Careers Web site.
Vault has expanded and rebranded its offerings as Career Insider. Once you log into the USF MBA Careers Web site and click on the "Vault" link, you'll need to register separately to access Career Insider offerings.
Here's additional information from the company on the new Career Insider. Please let me know if you have questions.
----------------------------------------------------
More than just a database for users to search employment opportunities, Vault’s newly named Career Insider incorporates Web 2.0 strategies that expanded upon popular features from the previous site with new content, improved navigation, optimized functionality and “My Vault,” a customizable social networking style career management portal.
Career Insider promises to provide “The Intelligence You Need for the Career You Want” and holds true to this pledge through vastly expanded content. The number of industries the new site covers increase from 40 to nearly 200, expanding further to cover more pointed career paths. At the same time, the number of professions has also increased from 60 to more than 400.
The foundation of Vault’s content is the nearly 50 thousand employee and industry influencer surveys the company conducts each year. These surveys have allowed Career Insider to offer expanded company profiles that provide targeted insight into the interview and hiring practices, salaries, advancement opportunities and corporate cultures of thousands of companies.
A new feature to the site, up-to-the-minute news from Dow Jones will provide users with the latest industry news further dissected by almost a dozen blogs that will also be included on Career Insider. Written by Vault’s expert and guest editors, blogs include “Admit One,” providing advice and tips for applying to-and getting into-users’ dream schools; “SixFigureStart,” offering practical tips and strategies based on how hiring really works and what employers really want from former Fortune 500 recruiters; and Erik Sorenson’s own “Career Nation,” a blog aimed at helping readers achieve career and job fulfillment.
Vault’s new Career Insider delivers a more contextual experience designed to be relevant and responsive to the college student and job seeker’s specific needs. Taking a cue from popular social networking sites, at the core of this new approach is “My Vault,” a customizable career management portal. “My Vault” is a content organizational tool, through which users can access the latest information about their personalized list of target companies, industries and professions. Plus, Vault will deliver relevant information directly to their “My Vault” page – with news and content about organizations and jobs that are relevant to their interests and needs.
In addition, Career and Profession Discussion Boards allow users to interface with those already working or searching for jobs in targeted industries. A comprehensive, integrated search will also allow users to easily access information on any industry or career preference.
